Portrait of Prof. Alfred Cossmann at age 60

17 × 12 cm

lower right signed by the artist: "Mikulicz"

below signed by the sitter: "Alf. Coßmann"

upper left and right corners, respectively, inscribed in pencil in another hand (probably the editorial staff of a newspaper): "Donnerstag" ["Thursday"] and "Tgblt" [presumably an abbreviation for "Tageblatt" or "Daily Newspaper"]

It would appear that this drawing was created for publication as an illustration in a daily newspaper, perhaps in Vienna where Cossmann and Mikulicz both resided.
