This print is a fragment of an early state of a portrait of "Prof. L," presumably a geology professor, that, in 1911, was published in the art periodical Die Kunst für Alle. Our fragment appears to be the only surviving evidence of this state, as it does not otherwise appear in the published literature on Brömse.
