Provenance:  


Collection Dr. Gottfried Eissler (1862-1924), Vienna (verso with stamp "Gottfried Eissler").  Dr. Eissler and his brother, entrepreneur Hermann Eissler, were important Viennese art collectors in the first quarter of the 20th century.  After Dr. Eissler's death in 1924, his art collection was sold at auction the following year at C. J. Wawra in Vienna.  C. J. Wawra, Nachlass Gottfried Eissler: Gemälde, Aquarelle, Miniaturen, Plaketten, Silber, Keramik etc. (Wien, May 6-7, 1925).


Condition: tanned and slightly foxed as well as slightly mat-burned; margins with slight defects; verso with dry adhesive track.

Condition: Slightly light-stained browning in the passepartout (mat) cutout, with remains of an old mounting on the reverse of the left edge. Overall in good condition.
