Biographical Details:
"Paul Lorenz Otto Heinrich Herrmann, also known as Henri Héran, German painter and graphic artist (1864 Munich - 1940 Berlin), grew up in the circle of his uncle Paul Heyse, intended to study architecture, secretly took painting lessons and fell out with Heyse, later pupil of Max Ebersberger's painting school and pupil of Ferdinand Barth for two years, briefly enrolled at the Munich Academy in 1883, later panorama painter and restorer of frescoes in Bavaria and Swabia, then spent several years in New York and Chicago (1893 World's Fair), moved to Paris in 1895 and adopted the artist's name "Henri Héran", socialized there with friends of Edvard Munch, August Strindberg, and Oscar Wilde, moved to Berlin in 1906, created ceiling paintings for hotels in Berlin, among others. created ceiling paintings for the Adlon and Eden hotels, worked for the magazines "Pan" and "Le Centaure," received various honors, including the Berlin Golden State Medal and in 1914 the Saxon State Medal as well as the Grand Prize of Honour of the City of Leipzig, member of the Berlin Artists' Association, the Free Association of Graphic Artists in Berlin, and the Munich Secession."
