Discussion:

"Numerous of Gering's prints testify to the immense influence that the horrors of war had on his soul. Again and again they focus on the weapons situation and show Gering as a confident observer and draftsman."  B

There was also an edition in 1919 of 30 impressions, titled "Krieg u Frieden" ["War and Peace"].

Discussion:

"The cruelties that Gering was confronted with during the First World War shaped his artistic work of this time. He himself was buried after a bomb attack and rescued with severe injuries. Here he commemorates the deceased and their souls, who rise close together from the battlefield to heaven."  B
