Discussion:
"This image, along with several other images taken by Jacob Hilsdorf of Stefan George, was printed in the mid-1920s by his brother Theodor Hilsdorf using the original negative plates. After Jacob's early death in 1916, Theodor incorporated some of his brother's negatives in his archive. When these were reprinted, they were often signed Müller-Hilsdorf. In 1903 Theodor Hilsdorf had taken over the photography studio of his father-in-law Friedrich Müller. The studio was totally destroyed in 1945 in a bombing raid and only 2000 of the over 100,000 negatives of the archive remained intact." B
