The drawing above of the head of an eagle and the drawing below of the talons of an eagle are preparatory sketches relating to an illustration that was published in Ver Sacrum in 1900 in connection with a poem of Richard Schaukal.  See Ver Sacrum, Nr. 23, 1900, pgs. 362-363.
