Heinrich Krenes was an Austrian artist known principally for his numerous illustrations in Die Muskete (The Musket), a weekly satire magazine published in Vienna, 1905-1941. He exhibited at the Vienna Kuenstlerhaus, 1912-13. The painting “Vanitas (Salome)” is perhaps his finest work.
