In 1918, for the Munich publisher Hans von Weber, artist Bruno Goldschmitt produced a series of eight woodcuts to illustrate the Narrative Books of the Old Testament [Erzählenden Bücher des Alten Testaments], specifically Volume 1, The Book of Esther and the Book of Job [Das Buch Esther und das Buch Hiob].  The Daulton Collection owns seven preparatory drawings for these woodcuts (each in pencil and one drawing in black ink over pencil).  The Daulton Collection also owns ten signed preparatory drawings by Goldschmitt (circa 1923, charcoal on waste paper, approx. 29,3 x 21,4 each) to Goethe's play Götz von Berlichingen mit der eisener Hand
